Sony E3 Recap

It’s hard to know how to score the Sony E3 press conference. In terms of games shown I think it was far and beyond the best. Last of Us Part II, Death Stranding, Spider-Man and Ghost of Tsushima is the best first party lineup in gaming right now. Add to that the trailers for Resident Evil 2 remake and Remedy’s new game Control and it’s a blow away conference in terms of games.

Microsoft showed more in volume, but in my opinion the best things they showcased are third party games coming day and date to PS4. The thing that stopped it from being a knock-out show was the presentation. Having the entire audience in a tent for the Last of Us Part II trailer first, then, 20 minutes into the show taking a TWENTY minute intermission while you move the entire audience into the real venue was madness.

You ended up feeling like the show didn’t start until forty minutes in and it then ended half an hour later. I get that they were trying to do something special for what is set to be Naughty Dog’s biggest game yet and possibly the best game ever made, but it came at a cost. It was probably great for those in attendance but I don’t think it played well to audiences at home. Anyway, below are the best trailers from Sony’s E3 showing.

What did you think of Sony’s E3 2018? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @VizualDze. Later.

Craig started gaming at 4 years old on the NES and has been hooked ever since. Trophies and achievements have only made him fall deeper down the rabbit hole. Will play almost anything, although particularly partial to anything involving stealth and silenced pistols. Football game enthusiast. RIP PES.
