PS+ August 2018

It’s that time of the month again where we find out what new games will be joining the PS+ lineup for the coming month. Below is a breakdown of what is coming complete with Metacritic rating and my own personal opinions on said game.

Mafia III (Metacritic: 68)

Mafia III is an underrated game. It definitely has it’s issues with fetch quest missions that take an eternity but aside from that it isn’t anywhere near as buggy as some would have you believe. If you enjoy open world games I strongly suggest giving this a whirl.

Dead by Daylight (Metacritic: 64)

I haven’t actually played this yet but a lot of people I know are big fans of it so I am looking forward to finally checking it out. It certainly seems like a lot of fun when playing with a group.

Knowledge Is Power (Metacritic: 71)

This one really excites me. I had been meaning to pick this up since it first released. I used to love Buzz! back on PS3 and while this doesn’t seem quite on that level, it’s something! Plus it is part of the PlayLink series meaning you can use your mobile as an input device so the whole family can join in.

Here They Lie (Metacritic: 62)

This has been thrown in as a bonus fourth PS+ title this month. It requires the PSVR to play but is worth checking out if you own the headset and enjoy psychological horror games.

Also coming to PS3 and Vita this month are the following;

Bound By Flame – PS3
Serious Sam 3 – PS3
Draw Slasher – PS Vita
Space Hulk – PS Vita

Leaving PS+ on August 7th is;

Absolver – PS4
Heavy Rain – PS4
Rayman 3 HD – PS3
Extreme Exorcism – PS4
Space Overlords – PS4 + Vita
Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma – Vita

Personally I think it is the strongest in a while. You have a 20+ hour open world single player experience in Mafia III, an online co-op game you can lose hours to with friends in Dead By Daylight, a game for all the family in Knowledge is Power and even a VR title for those of us who invested in the new tech.

What do you think of the lineup? Let me know in the comments or on Twitter @VizualDze

Craig started gaming at 4 years old on the NES and has been hooked ever since. Trophies and achievements have only made him fall deeper down the rabbit hole. Will play almost anything, although particularly partial to anything involving stealth and silenced pistols. Football game enthusiast. RIP PES.
