Welcome back to part two of the WrestleMania 35 preview. If you missed it you can check out part one here and vote on your predictions. Let’s get started on the rest of the card.
With so many matches on the card there will need to be a few that are short and sweet. This would be number one on my list for that treatment. Simply put, Angle can’t go anymore. It’s sad that is has came to this point. Had last years WrestleMania been his final match he could have went out on a real high. I am still holding out hope that on the night something happens and it ends up Angle v Cena, but I wouldn’t bank on it. As for the advertised match I think Angle takes it in four minutes tops. Any other finish is stupid in my opinion. There is no upside in Corbin.

This should be a good match but it smacks of just trying to get everyone on the card. As I have said countless times I would much prefer an eight match main card and then two battle royals on the pre-show. I don’t care if you throw 50 people in it, get the entire audience on the card if you want, just don’t pollute the card with so many matches. As for a winner here, given the new contracts they have just signed I will take the Uso’s.
HEART: No preference
HEAD: The Uso’s
Given twenty minutes this could be the best match on the card. In all likelihood it will get closer to half of that though. In terms of build it may be the strongest on the entire show. The promo’s back and fourth have been excellent and been an example on using realism in an effective manner (Take note Becky and Ronda). I have said it before and will say it again though, in 2019 I find it impossible to get excited about a Randy Orton match. I have watched the guy for seventeen years now. He has been a featured act in WWE longer than Hulk Hogan and Steve Austin COMBINED. Again due to the babyfaces likely winning most of the key matches and the fact I think this feud will continue beyond Mania I will take Orton.
HEART: AJ Styles
HEAD: Randy Orton
This one I find really intriguing. IF Seth is still scheduled to win the title, his first penciled program is against Drew McIntyre. Generally you wouldn’t want to build up a world title challenger by having them lose, but I don’t see Roman Reigns failing on his first big singles match since returning from illness. Hopefully they can have a good match and both come out of it looking strong.
HEART: Drew McIntyre

Regular readers of Wrestling With Mediocrity will know that despite my disdain for Helmsley, I have really enjoyed this build. I do think it has been downhill since day one, but then day one was superb. HHH is coming off a bad injury and Big Dave hasn’t wrestled in a long time so I am expecting a lot of deflection tactics to be employed during this one and rightly so. Given the retirement stipulation and his need to ‘get his win back’ there is only one winner here. The Shovel. Also known as Triple H.
HEART: Batista

Another match that has had a good build with some missteps. Someone organically got really over and the company went with it. That’s a big deal is 2019. Rusev can only dream of such a scenario. The downside is that I don’t think Kofi is the right guy. Sure it would be nice for a guy who has given so many years to the business to get rewarded with a world title run, but we are in an era where there is just too much talent for hand outs. Kofi is a good wrestler, but with this roster he is no stand out. If we look at mic work he is even further down the pecking order. WWE’s ratings have dropped 20% year over year. Kofi Kingston is not the man to reverse that trend. That said I do expect him to win and get a short and unremarkable run.
HEART: Daniel Bryan
HEAD: Kofi Kingston
Up until a few weeks ago I was pretty certain Seth was winning the title but given the seriously lukewarm build to this one Seth certainly doesn’t feel like a man Vince is about to build a company around. Also today it surfaced that UFC are looking to put together Daniel Cormier v Brock Lesnar in the octagon this summer. Funny the timing of that ‘rumour’. A cynical man would suggest that Brock may be in contract negotiations with Vince as we speak. I’ll go out on a limb and say Brock retains. Seth can move on to feud with a losing Drew and Roman can dethrone Lesnar for the seventy-fourth time at SummerSlam.
HEART: Seth Rollins
HEAD: Brock Lesnar
WrestleMania 35 will always be remembered for being the first time the women main evented a WrestleMania. There’s also a good chance it could be the only time it happens for the next few years. It’s a testament to all three women that they have managed to claim this spot on the card. Now, the build. I have been very critical of it. At the beginning of January I couldn’t have imagined Becky and Ronda not being my most anticipated match. Even after Becky’s ridiculous tap to Asuka and heel Rumble win I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but it has went from bad to ludicrous. Months of Becky hobbling about on that crutch cheapshotting people and getting her head kicked in. Then that nonsense on RAW this week. Was it campy fun? Absolutely! But this is the MAIN EVENT at WrestleMania. The first ever at that! One minute they are trying to ‘shoot’ and the next they are in the most WWE produced carnage in about five years. Pick one and stick with it.
As far as the match goes I know many think Charlotte is in the match to take the pin, but I don’t. I think Becky submits Ronda and stands tall at the end of night. Then, when Ronda takes her leave to start a family we go back to the Becky/Charlotte feud with Charlotte angry about losing a title without being beaten. There had also been rumours of a curtain call at the end of the show. I have no time for that self congratulatory bullshit. The show should go off the air with Becky standing tall like a bad ass. My fear is that doesn’t happen and we get a celebration of women. There has been enough of that in the recent past. We should now be in a place where women in WWE have proven they are the men’s equals and not have to pat themselves on the back over some fake revolution.
HEART: Becky Lynch

There you have it. The full WrestleMania card as it stands. Obviously we have the Elias singing segment which I expect Honky Tonk Man to be a part of and then whatever Cena does. How do you think the show is looking this year? Get in touch via Twitter @VizualDze and let me know. Also rehmember to vote on your winner for each match. Enjoy the show!
