Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 Coming to the West

A trophy list has popped up pointing towards the western release of Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. Some might remember that this game released over in Hong Kong and Japan around a year ago (which we reviewed here) but wasn’t slated to drop over here until around the time the summer games were scheduled to begin. With the year’s delay, it now appears SEGA is choosing to put it out rather than hold it. No official date has been given yet.

Impressions video done on the HK version last year.

Our Take: Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 was a good pick up and play game. I enjoyed my time with it last year, especially with some friends and a few drinks. Hopefully SEGA price the game accordingly as at around £20 this would be a good budget title. If however, it follows it’s HK pricing it could come out at up to £35.

Six Months and Three Minutes to Midnight?

I tweeted developer Scarecrow Studio for an update on their brilliant looking point and click adventure Three Minutes to Midnight and they had the following to say;

Hey! The game is almost completely assembled. Now we’re in the process of implementing conversations. Then comes testing, translations, etc. Hopefully by the end of the year we will have it ready! Thank you for sticking around. 💛

Our Take: Due to current circumstances there is likely a good chance this will slip into 2021, but the developer’s comments do give us hope that we might see the game this year. It’s an ambitious title though, and I’m willing to wait as long as it takes. We will be covering the game more extensively around the launch.

Crash 4 Gets Local Co-op?

According to the pre-order listing on the PSN store, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is set to get 2-4 player offline multiplayer. It’s unclear at the moment what this could entail as nothing has been stated officially, but this is something to watch out for in any future deep dives we get pre-release.

Our Take: My best guess is that this would be some sort of local co-op where you could go through the levels with a partner. Outside of that it could relate to speedruns or even possibly some sort of mini Smash Bros mode, but I would mark that as unlikely.

Will play almost anything, although particularly partial to anything involving stealth and silenced pistols. Football game enthusiast. RIP PES.
