Free PS+ 10th Year Anniversary Theme

To help celebrate the 10 year anniversary of PlayStation Plus, Sony has released a free theme marking the milestone. The theme is available on both the US and EU stores and should be the first listed under the themes download section. But before you get too excited, check out the video below.

Our Take: So yeah, the issue is that the theme isn’t very good. The yellow colour certainly won’t be for everyone and it doesn’t come with any backing music or custom sounds. I appreciate the thought, but it’s a half baked effort at best.

Track Your Time Played On PS4

A new website has popped up allowing you to track your time spent on PS4. Should you wish to check it out head on over to PS Time Tracker. Once set up you will be asked to add the sites bot PSN account as your friend and you will be tracked via that. You will have to be visible to friends (not set to appear offline) for the tracking to work.

Our Take: Let’s be honest. PlayStation themselves should have implemented this tracking years ago. Hopefully, this is only something that we would need to use for a few months as it is one of the most requested PS5 features. It also should be noted that as this site has gained traction over the last few days the bot account is having trouble keeping up with all the requests and this may take time to activate for you.

Ubisoft Announces Battle Royale Game Hyper Scape

Ubisoft is entering the world of battle royale with Hyper Scape – a new 100 player FPS with a futuristic vibe. There is no PS4 release date at the moment but the reveal trailer does say that it is coming soon. In the mean time closed beta testing has begun on PC, so you can see the game in action on Twitch right now.

Our Take: To say the battle royale genre is spread a little thin at the moment would be an understatement but I must say this does look pretty cool. The hacking element looks interesting and the verticality of the game sets it apart from some others. We will be covering this game more in the coming weeks, whether that be hands on impressions from the PC beta or from what comes out of the Ubisoft Forward event next Sunday.

That’s it for this edition of news bytes. For more gaming chatter drop me a follow on Twitter @VizualDze where I discuss all types of nonsense. Until next time, stay safe.

Will play almost anything, although particularly partial to anything involving stealth and silenced pistols. Football game enthusiast. RIP PES.
