Ghost of Tsushima Patch Notes

Patch update 1.05 has been released and it comes with a host of additions and tweaks. The most notable changes are a new ‘lethal’ difficulty which makes enemies more alert and their actions more aggressive and deadly. The dodge windows have also been tightened in this mode, requiring you to time every parry to perfection.

On the other end of the scale, there’s a lower intensity mode which intents to give users a more chilled out experience. Parry and dodge windows are increased, allowing a greater margin for error and also making previously unblockable attacks now blockable. Enemies alert meters will also take longer to fill with this mode enabled.

Our Take: More accessibility options are always great. I am finding the combat fun yet challenging on normal but I have heard of some who are struggling on the easier difficulty and so ways to remove that frustration are always welcome. Likewise adding even more of a challenge for those who want it is great and may extend the life of the game for many. On a side note, our Ghost of Tsushima review should be coming in a week or two. I am currently playing through it, but taking my time as I am obsessed with it.

August PS+ Announced

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus offerings for August and it’s another good lineup. First of all, we have the Modern Warfare II Campaign Remastered, which released back in March (review here). While this is a great offering, it’s the second title that has many fans buzzing. That title is Fall Guys by Mediatonic and published by Devolver Digital, which will join PlayStation Plus on it’s release date.

Both of these games will join PlayStation Plus on Tuesday, August 4th. As always it’s out with the old to make room for the new and that means you only have a week left to add Rise of the Tomb Raider, Erica and NBA 2k20 to your download queue before they become paid content once more. Remember adding them to your download list will give you access to download them for free at any point in the future so long as your PlayStation Plus subscription is active.

Our Take: I am really excited for the release of Fall Guys. For anyone who is unaware of this game, just watch the launch trailer above and you’ll get the vibe of the game. It’s basically a 60 person battle royale except instead of it being a first or third person shooter, it’s like an episode of Takeshi’s Castle. The best part is that with it being free on release day you will have so many people willing to check it out and play. It really does feel like a Rocket League scenario, which couldn’t have worked out better for that title.

Pistol Whip Delayed… Two Days

The title says it all really. Pistol Whip was initially due to release on today but has been pushed to Thursday, July 30th. It’s not much of a delay, but worth noting in case you were planning to pick it up at the first available opportunity. The VR hit first launched on PC back in late 2019 to praise from critics and gamers alike.

Our Take: Thankfully it’s only a short delay and is unlikely to interrupt too many gamers plans. The game looks like a cross between the old Time Crisis games mixed with Beat Saber and we can’t wait to play it. Look for a review coming in the next week or so.
