As first reported by us over a week ago on Twitter, Sony is planning a new State of Play event for this Thursday, August 6th at 9pm UK time. On the docket is an update on some PS4 and PSVR games coming soon and a few updates from third-party titles and Indies showcased back in June. See the full tweet below.

State of Play returns Thursday at 1:00pm Pacific!

What to expect:
▪️ A focus on upcoming PS4 & PS VR games
▪️ A few quick check-ins on third-party and indie games from June’s PS5 showcase
▪️ No big PS5 announcements!

Our Take: This puts to bed the rumour that Sony was “holding back a God of War 2 announcement for after the Xbox conference”, which seemed like the most fanboy rumour in history. Nevertheless, it’s something to look forward to as we wind down the PS4 generation.
