PS5 Incompatibility List

Sony recently came out and confirmed the small list of PS4 games that won’t be compatible with the PS5 system at launch. These games may, however, be patched at a later date to allow them to run on Sony’s next-generation hardware. In-fact, one of the team over at Mad Triangles recently stated on Reddit that he hoped they would have DWVR patched and ready to go on PS5 for launch day. As it stands though, the list of incompatible games are as follows;

Joe’s Diner
DWVR
Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume One
TT Isle of Man – Ride on the Edge 2
Just Deal With It!
We Sing
Shadow Complex Remastered
Robinson The Journey
Hitman Go Definitive Edition
Shadwen

Our Take: After all the talk of Sony not taking backwards compatibility serious enough, if this is all that’s not going to carry over to PlayStation 5 with me that is very cool. I’ll be keeping my PS4 anyway, but other than Shadow Complex Remastered there is nothing on that list I plan to go back to.

Remote Play From PS4 To PS5

Sony has announced that you will be able to stream games from your PS4 to the PS5 via remote play. There is no word on if you will be able to reverse this and stream a PS5 game to your previous generation system, but that would be a welcome addition.

Our Take: This may seem like a useless feature at first, but with the very limited space on these new ultra-fast SSD drives, if I can play my PS4 games via remote play rather than having them take up space on the PS5 console itself that’s a win. Being able to stream PS5 games on the PS4 would be a big plus as well, but given that wasn’t confirmed alongside this news I would doubt it’s an option.
