Dying Light 2 Loses Its Art Director

After 22 years with the company, Techland Studios writer and art director Pawel Selinger has departed. Joining the company in 1999, Sellinger has held various roles throughout the years but that has came to end according to his LinkedIn profile where he shared a quick note with fans and colleagues.

After over twenty-two years, I decided to end my cooperation with Techland. I would like to express my gratitude to the company that has allowed me to develop and fulfill myself for half of my life. Techland, I will always be rooting for you, as well as the great people I have met thanks to you. I wish you that Dying light 2 and subsequent projects will become world hits.

This brings up even more questions about the sequel to the 2015 hit and its whereabouts. The last time the game was properly shown off was at E3 2019 and since then news has not only been sparse, but negative. In 2020, amid rumours that the game had been in development hell and possibly cancelled writer Chris Avellone was fired for alleged sexual misconduct.

Techland has reiterated numerous times that the game is very much still being worked on, but we are now well over a year past when the game was initially rumoured to launch. We here at VDZE Media loved the first game and have been excited to get our hands on the highly anticipated sequel. Hopefully, behind the scenes, the game is coming together well and we will see more in 2021.
