Sony announced a new State of Play will air on Thursday 25 Feb, giving all gaming fans a look at upcoming Playstation 4 and Playstation 5 games.

“State of Play broadcast will serve up new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5, including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase,” said Sid Shuman, senior director of Sony Interactive Entertainment content communications.

What will be featured

We’re anticipating updates on Sony’s Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart* due for release in June, Horizon Forbidden West, Gran Turismo 7 (although we know that we won’t be seeing that until 2022), and a new God of War.

Third-party games expected to be shown also include DeathloopGhostWire: TokyoResident Evil Village, and a PS5 version of Grand Theft Auto 5. Perhaps there will also be detail on some indies such as Jett: The Far ShoreKena: Bridge of SpiritsStray, and Solar Ash, all of which were shown in the June showcase.

The show won’t focus on PlayStation hardware or “business-focused updates” — it will be all about games coming out in the months ahead, Sony explained. So don’t expect to see that new PlayStation VR headset for PS5.
