Cyberpunk 2077 Has Been Platinumed

We are still two months from launch, but the QA Lead at CD Projekt has tweeted out that he got the platinum trophy. The interesting part of this news is that the picture now shows us that the game will have 1 gold, 17 silver and 26 bronze trophies. We’ll likely have to wait another 6 or 7 weeks to find out the requirements for each one of the trophies though.

Our Take: Some random employee getting a platinum in an unreleased game wouldn’t normally activate the news cannon for me. However, this is our first glimpse at the trophy structure which is interesting. Also, the fact that someone has basically played the game front to back, presumably completing everything in the game, suggests that it’s finished and almost ready to go gold. In short, I think we can all but rule out any more delays.

New PS5 Advert

PlayStation today released the latest PS5 advert under their new tagline ‘Play Has No Limits’. The advert, which can be viewed below, is likely releasing today ahead of the console price and date being announced on Wednesday during their PS5 Showcase.

Our Take: It’s a pretty simple but effective ad. Hype is building steadily towards the PS5 Showcase on Wednesday where we will no doubt see an explosion of news on both the console and upcoming games. We still expect one of Sony’s consoles to match the $499/£449 price point. The question is just which one.

That’s it for this edition of News Bytes. Keep an eye on the main page and also our Twitter account to keep up-to-date with all the latest news in what is set to be a busy week for gaming.
