EA’s UFC 4 Incoming

UFC owner Dana White may be struggling to stop any of his top stars retiring at the moment, but that isn’t going to stop EA releasing a fourth iteration of it’s popular mixed martial arts game. It is likely the game is set to be unveiled at the upcoming EA Play Live 2020, however the image PS4 Patches managed to obtain suggests some form of beta may be on it’s way soon.

EA’s UFC 4 IncomingFar Cry 6 RevealDestiny 2 on PS5

Our Take: A new UFC game is not unexpected, given EA had said when they got the license that they planned to release a game every two years. It’s still cool to get a solid indication that it’s coming soon though. The previous three EA UFC games were good, but in my opinion never lived up to the THQ games before them. I hope we get more than minor changes and a roster update.

Far Cry 6 Reveal

According to German website Gamereactor, Far Cry 6 is set to be revealed at next months Ubisoft event title ‘Ubisoft Forward’ which is set for July 12th. The website also hints that the game won’t be taking place on American soil ruling out any continuation of the Far Cry 5/New Dawn story. One interesting note is that voice actor Michael Mando has hinted that his character Vaas, from Far Cry 3, may return soon.

Our Take: This is all great news. I love Far Cry and Vaas was one of my favourite villains. My only criticism was that he wasn’t in the game enough, so hopefully this time they rectify that. My one other hope for the game is that they do away with the drug/hallucination sections, but I fear that may be asking for too much. You can find our reviews of Far Cry: New Dawn, Far Cry 5 and Far Cry 3 Classic by clicking the game names.

Destiny 2 on PS5

In their latest livestream, developer Bungie confirmed that Destiny 2 players on PS4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version free of charge. The PlayStation 5 version will run at 60fps, but still be cross-play with players on PS4.

Our Take: This will be great news for fans who have invested hundreds of hours into Destiny 2. Players playing on PS5 will certainly have an advantage playing at 60fps, but it’s nice to be able to sync across as many devices as possible.

That’ll do it for this edition of news bytes. We’ve got a huge week ahead with Sony’s PS5 games showcase Thursday night and the Last of Us Part II review embargo lifting on Friday morning. Craig started gaming at 4 years old on the NES and has been hooked ever since. Trophies and achievements have only made him fall deeper down the rabbit hole. Will play almost anything, although particularly partial to anything involving stealth and silenced pistols. Football game enthusiast. RIP PES.
