Fall Guys Gets Its First Update
Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout continues to take the gaming community by storm and developer Mediatonic are wisely not resting on their laurels. Today, August 12th, they are launching the first big update to the game which brings with it a final round level called ‘Jump Showdown’. Gamers who played the beta on PC may remember this one as it was present in that early build.
Within the thread of this tweet they outline the full list of changes coming to the game. They are as follows;
- Lowered the weighting for Royal Fumble to add more final round variation.
- Fixed crash at launch with certain regional calendars set in the operating system.
- Improved messaging for matchmaking and server errors.
- Fixed physics behaving erratically at high framerate on levels like Tip Toe.
- Fixed crown in Fall Mountain not being grabbable in rare situations.
- Addressed some collisions in Block Party allowing players to bypass the blocks.
- Fixed Parties sometimes failing due to too many requests.
- Addressed some special characters causing display issues in player names.
- Fixed Big Tease Achievement not unlocking in specific regions.
- PC only – Fixed certain game controller models not being detected on PC.
Our Take: It’s great to see Fall Guys being supported with this substantial update so early on. The question was always there about how long the fun would last but if Mediatonic can continue to cycle in more new rounds and cool skins, this game will be huge for a long time to come. The promise of seasonal events and skins is mega exciting. Can’t wait for Halloween!
FIFA 21 Stadium Customisation
EA dropped it’s latest trailer for FIFA 21, this time focusing on Ultimate Team. One of the interesting new features is that you will be able to customise your stadium. Specifically you can add custom music, goal celebrations, and fireworks. You can also add new tiers to the stadium. Check the video below for details.
Our Take: This is a really cool addition. Selfishly though I want it in career mode, not FUT. I couldn’t care less about the FIFA online modes but I put so many hours into the career and it would be amazing to take a team from the lower leagues to the Champions League and build your stadium along the way.
Halo Infinite Delayed Until 2021
On Tuesday night the official Halo Twitter account released a development update announcing that the game has been delayed for the original scheduled Holiday 2020 release until some point in 2021. The game was originally planned to release day and date with the Xbox Series X. As you would expect COVID-19 was given as the main reason for the delay.
Our Take: I called this a while back. Given the lack of footage we had seen and no beta announcement. Then after the sub-par showing at the Xbox Games Showcase, the idea of a delay gained some traction and it really only seemed like a matter of time. Hopefully, this means the game will release in the best possible state and hardcore fans of the series will get the game they deserve.
