Following the latest job listing advertised on Microsoft’s careers website on February 6, it looks like 343 Industries are working on a new entry in the Halo Franchise.

The listing doesn’t specifically say what, only that they are looking for a “producer to help develop a new project in the Halo universe”, suggesting that the successful candidate would not be tasked with Halo Infinite.

Halo Infinite, the newest mainline entry in the franchise was intended as an Xbox Series X launch title but was delayed to allow further development of the game. The latest Inside Infinity update revealed it will now release in Fall 2021. Although a disappointment to fans, Halo: Master Chief Collection, the collected works of developers Bungie and 343 Industries in the Halo canon, is set to come to a new platform, with speculation rife around an Epic Store or Nintendo Switch release after the news was teased in a recent Halo Waypoint blog post (via VG24/7).

Previous rumours circulated in November last year of the possibility of a spin-off following Halo 5’s Fireteam Osiris and Halo Wars 3. Could that be what the newest producer is tasked with.

Think you fit the role?

The listing specifies they are looking for someone with experience in “shipping AAA current generation game as a Producer”. You can apply for the role here.
